Why K-Rend

K-Rend is the silicone render we fit most, and the product is only half the job. The same bag of render can look sharp in ten years or streaked and cracked in three, and the difference is who put it on and what they did before the top coat.

Through-coloured, so no repainting. The colour runs all the way through the render rather than sitting on top as paint. That means no repainting every few years, no patchy fading, and no peeling, the finish you get on day one is the finish you keep.

Water-repellent but breathable. Silicone render sheds rain from the surface while still letting the wall breathe underneath. On a wet, mild coast that matters. Driving rain stays out, and moisture already in the wall can still get out.

Self-cleaning and low maintenance. The hydrophobic surface means rain runs off carrying dirt with it, so K-Rend stays cleaner for longer than cement render or painted finishes, which you notice most on north and west-facing walls, where the green usually gets going first.

A clean, modern look. A flat, modern finish in whatever shade suits the house, white on a new build or something warmer on an older place.

Silicone K1, scraped texture

The classic scraped-texture silicone render, applied over a base coat onto brick or blockwork. A durable, through-coloured finish in a wide range of standard colours, the go-to for most whole-house and new-build jobs.

Silicone TC, thin coat

A thinner, ready-mixed silicone top coat, ideal over insulation boards and cement board on studwork. Hand or spray applied for a smooth, even finish where flexibility over the substrate matters.

K Mono, monocouche

A one-coat, through-coloured monocouche render, a fast, attractive finish that's very common on Exeter new builds. Great where a clean single-coat solution suits the property and budget.

Dash & dry dash receiver

For traditional dry-dash and pebbledash finishes, or refurbishing existing dashed walls, the silicone dash receiver gives the modern weatherproofing benefits behind a classic textured look.

Spray-applied systems

Preparation & beading

Walls prepped properly, beads and stop-ends set true, and everything masked off. Most of what makes a render job last happens at this stage, before any colour goes near the wall.

Base coat

The base coat goes on and is left to cure, giving the silicone top coat a sound, reinforced surface to key into and stopping cracks appearing later.

Silicone top coat

Your chosen colour and texture applied and finished. Through-coloured, so what goes on is what stays.

Do I ever need to repaint K-Rend?

No, silicone render is through-coloured, so the colour runs all the way through rather than sitting on the surface as paint. There's no repainting every few years and no patchy fading, which is one of its biggest advantages over painted cement render.

Can you K-Rend over my existing pebbledash or render?

Often, yes. It depends on the condition of what's already there. If the existing surface is sound it can usually be rendered over after the right preparation; if it's blown or loose it may need taking back first. We'll tell you which after a proper look, rather than guessing.

Why is silicone render good for Devon weather?

Devon's climate is wet and mild, perfect conditions for algae, damp and streaking on exteriors. Silicone render is water-repellent yet breathable, so it sheds driving rain from the surface while letting the wall breathe underneath. The self-cleaning surface also helps keep green growth at bay, especially on shaded, north-facing walls.

You never paint it

K-Rend is through-coloured, the colour goes all the way through. Painted cement render needs redoing every five years or so, scaffold and all. That adds up fast.

It lasts decades

A properly applied silicone render should go 20–30 years before it needs anything doing to it.

Scaffolding once

The big hidden cost of repainting render isn't the paint. It's putting the scaffold back up every time. Through-coloured render means you do that once.

What moves the price
