About George Washbourn, Plasterer in Exeter

An established Exeter plastering and rendering firm, covering the whole of Devon. Run by George Washbourn, time-served, fifteen years on the trowel.

Who we are

Time-served, and it shows

George Washbourn came into the trade through a two-year apprenticeship and has been plastering for over fifteen years since. Plastering has no legal barrier to entry, anyone can buy a trowel and call themselves a plasterer, so being properly taught is the difference between a wall that lasts and one that blows in two winters.

Today GW Plastering runs a team of experienced tradesmen out of Exeter, working across Devon on everything from single rooms to full-house renovations, new builds and period restoration.

What we do

Lime and heritage work is the part most plasterers won't take on. It's slower and less forgiving, and it needs someone who understands why a cob wall has to breathe. It's a large part of what we do.

How we work

You get a clear price before anything starts, and that's the price you pay. We turn up when we said we would, and we leave the place clean, something four separate customers have mentioned in their reviews without being asked.

Where we work

Exeter and across Devon, Crediton, Tiverton, Exmouth, Newton Abbot, Cullompton, Topsham, Ottery St Mary, Okehampton, Pinhoe and Broadclyst among them. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just ask.
